Position: Year 5 Class Teacher
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term for T5 and T6

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Year 5 Teacher who is excited about helping children learn, grow and confidently prepare for their Upper Key Stage 2 journey.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Delivers engaging, ambitious and well-structured lessons
  • Has strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
  • Contributes to the wider life of the school

Qualifications & Training

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Evidence of ongoing professional development

 

 

 

Experience

 

Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2

Experience planning and delivering high-quality lessons

Experience using assessment to inform planning and improve outcomes

 

Experience of using Insight for assessment

Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2

Experience supporting pupils with SEND

Experience running or contributing to extracurricular activities

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

Strong subject knowledge across all National Curriculum areas

Understanding of Year 5 curriculum expectations

Ability to differentiate effectively to meet diverse needs

Confident in using formative and summative assessment

Strong behaviour management skills based on positive relationships

Ability to create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment

Effective communication with pupils, parents and staff

 

Interest in leading or supporting a curriculum subjectAbility to contribute to wider school initiatives or projects
