Early Years Practitioner in Slade Nursery School

Job Introduction

Early Year's practitioner Level 3 qualified Grade 5-6 depending on experience. Term Time only .

Hours: 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday plus 1 hour per week for team meetings. Must be available to work Inset days.

The Slade Nursery is a warm, child-centred environment and we are looking for an enthusiastic experienced and committed to Early Year's practitioner to work as part of an experienced team to support children of mixed ages. Applicants will participate in providing a stimulating and nurturing environment that supports children to thrive. The nursery operates a key person approach, which develops quality relationships between staff, children and families.

The Nursery School and Day Nursery are co-located within a primary school in a purpose built building, offering wonderful opportunities for integrated community working.

The school serves a diverse local community and works closely in partnership with parents.

Job Purpose:

To participate in providing a stimulating and caring environment in which children’s developmental and welfare needs are met.

To provide good quality inclusive care, education and play opportunities for children 2 – 5 years, by supporting a team of childcare staff.
To contribute to the development of Integrated Centre as a pioneering model of good practice.

Key Tasks:

In liaison with the Head teacher:

To contribute to a programme of care, education and play opportunities within the Nursery environment for children 2 – 5 years, which fosters children’s growth, self-esteem, and independence.

To be involved in the implementation of relevant whole setting policies.
To work closely with the Family and Community support team, and local schools to ensure consistency and continuity of care and education and play opportunities for the children.
To observe and record individual children’s development.
To communicate effectively with parents and carers of the children in the setting.
To attend team meetings as required.
To always, ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations.
To be aware of child protection policy and procedures.
To respect the confidentially of information received.
To have a commitment to personal and professional development.
To prepare for and receive supervision.
To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head teacher.
