Job/Person Summary
St Andrew’s C of E Primary School is an inclusive school, and we are proud of the Christian ethos and values shared by all staff, children, parents and Governors. We are a successful one form entry school in a popular part of the city. The school has a wide-ranging intake, with children from a variety of backgrounds and cultures due to the international nature of nearby hospitals, universities and local businesses.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding class teacher to work in lower KS2. Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
• A creative approach to curriculum planning and delivery
• Evidence of at least good teaching standards.
• Knowledge and experience of a range of planning, assessment and record keeping strategies
• A positive approach to the management of behaviour
• Strong interpersonal skills that support effective team work with colleagues, governors and parents.
• Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice
• Ability to make provision for children for whom English is a second language
• Self–motivated with the ability to motivate others, ambitious for the children being taught.
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
It would be advantageous if applicants had the following:
• Teaching experience in KS2
• Subject leadership experience
• Experience in organising the relevant documentation for children with special needs
• Experience of working with children with English as an additional language
