Job/Person Summary
Afterschool Club Playworker
Drayton Community Primary School is a growing school based near Abingdon in south Oxfordshire.
We have vacancies for Afterschool Club Playworkers, working with the team to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children, meeting their individual needs. This is a good lead into working in a Primary School environment where, often, playworkers move on to become teaching assistants within our school. This is a fun role within school encouraging play and lots of social interaction. Experience of working within a school or childcare setting would be an advantage, though not essential as training will be given.
We are looking for candidates with:
• The ability to assist with planning day to day organisation and operation of the club, providing high quality play opportunities
• Experience of working with young children and knowledge of safeguarding/child protection procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• An understanding of play based approaches to children's learning and development.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is an advantage.
• Holder of a first aid qualification an advantage.
• Use of initiative and ability to work in a team
Training in food hygiene and first aid will be provided – if not already obtained/ trained
