Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant and this vital role will provide general teaching assistant duties within the classroom environment, assist children with additional funding and support with lunchtime and break-time cover. 

The post will be 30 hours, term time only.

You should have a flexible approach to your work and enjoy working as part of a forward thinking, dynamic, friendly and supportive team, committed to providing a fully integrated service. The successful candidate will be committed to their own professional development and to the development of our children. 

The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area (for example; Outdoor Learning and School Trips).
  • Role involves general TA duties, working in small groups and 1-2-1 responsibilities.
  • Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
