HEAD CHEF - Grade 8
We are looking for an experienced Head Chef used to producing dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on flavours from around the world.
We are looking for a competent chef who can cater for 250+ main meals and oversee the kitchen as we continue on our journey of keeping the school’s meal provision, in-house, as well as fresh and exciting.
You must be committed to driving up school meal uptake and building better long-term eating habits.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Great people management skills and is confident to manage performance through the day to day operation.
- Enjoys motivating and developing a team by promoting strong working relationships.
- Ordering and stock control skills.
- Experience of running a smooth and efficient catering service and able to identify further sales opportunities.
- Great understanding of health and safety and food compliance.
- Passion for healthy food and creative flair, responsible for cooking and menu planning.
- Works well under pressure, and is comfortable in a very flexible, fast paced working environment.
- Term time employment which means 38 working weeks a year
- Monday to Friday only, from 7.30am to 2.00pm
- No evening or weekend work
- 35 hour contract
- £16.35 per hour (£24,892 actual amount payable)
