Chilton County Primary School is a thriving, welcoming school of more than 300 pupils, set in beautiful countryside just outside Didcot and within easy reach of the A34. We are proud of our stable, happy and committed staff team who work closely together to achieve the very best outcomes for all children.
Our pupils are enthusiastic, curious and eager to learn. In our July 2024 Ofsted inspection, the school was judged Good, with inspectors praising pupils’ “praiseworthy behaviour” and “strong and positive attitudes to learning.”
Through our enquiry‑based curriculum, we create exciting learning experiences where children have genuine agency and creativity is celebrated. Our purpose‑built school includes large open learning spaces, an on‑site forest school, and a generous gardening area. We offer a rich curriculum enhanced by residential trips in each phase, whole‑school theatre visits and a wide range of enrichment clubs.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to join us from September 2026.
In Key Stage 1, we use a play‑based approach where children learn through exploration, purposeful play and small‑group teaching, alongside whole‑class sessions when appropriate. Our Key Stage 1 environment is well resourced, including a newly developed outdoor exploration space exclusively for Year 1 and 2 children. You will be joining a highly experienced and supportive Key Stage 1 team who are well placed to support new teachers to the school.
