Hours: 15 hours per week all year round, paid holiday.
Contract: Fixed-term initially moving to a permanent contract.
Salary: Grade 2 - £24,413 Pro Rata
Start date: January 2025
Grandpont Nursery School is a welcoming and vibrant early years setting located in the heart of Oxford. We are looking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic, and caring Catering Assistant to join our friendly team and help us provide healthy, nutritious meals for our children. This is an important role within our nursery community, helping to ensure children enjoy a positive and healthy mealtime experience.
About the Role
As our Catering Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the school kitchen, including:
- Assisting with the preparation of snacks and meals
- Supporting the staff with daily food service
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Washing up and ensuring the kitchen area is kept tidy
- Following food safety procedures and school policies
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of our children and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is organised, reliable, and proactive
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Has good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Can maintain excellent hygiene standards
- (Desirable) Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate – or is willing to complete one
- Experience in a catering or kitchen environment is helpful but not essential, as full training can be provided.
