After School Club Playworkers

Job Introduction

St Mary and St John CE Primary School would like to appoint part-time Playworkers at our After School Club, starting in September 2025. There are various vacancies, and days of work can be agreed at interview. The successful applicants will be required to coordinate stimulating and enjoyable activities under the guidance of the After School Club Supervisor. They will also be required to assist with supervision, planning and participating in activities and snack preparation. 
 
 The successful candidate will:

  • work within a team of committed Playworkers with support from the After School Club Supervisor
  • be creative and imaginative
  • be well organised with excellent communication skills
  • be able to build good relationships with children
  • be patient and tolerant
  • have the ability to work as part of a team
  • have good spoken English

Pay grade: grade 4 £12.65 per hour (£14.18 per hour including holiday pay), term-time only. Please note this pay is set to increase shortly by 3.2%. Hours are 3.15pm to 5.45pm. The number of days per week are negotiable, but some flexibility is required. We will also be flexible with the hours if you are a 6th Form student that can’t arrive in time for 3.15pm.

 

Visits to the school are welcomed.
