Job Introduction
Brookside Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic educator to work as a teaching assistant across the school. We would be interested to hear from candidates wishing to work in any Key Stage throughout the School but initially working in our Key Stage One or Two area. We actively encourage candidates to apply who have experience of working with pupils with communication and interaction needs who may also require speech and language therapy support.

The successful candidate will have:
- Flexibility in their working approach
- Enthusiasm and commitment
- The ability to work as part of a team, or as an individual if required
- Sensitivity to the needs of all children
- Educated to Level 1 or 2 in mathematics and English (GCSE, CSE or any other level one or two qualification) or an intention to complete them in the next two years.
- The skills to support children in EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- A knowledge of phonics or a willingness to learn quickly (RWInc)
- The ability to learn on the job with guidance from experienced colleagues
- The ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- To be able to attend staff training and meetings when required, sometimes outside the school day
- Knowledge and understanding of how schools work and the ability to support the learning of inquisitive minds through being able to plan next steps for learning, with the support of the class teacher
28 hours 45 minutes per week – 9am until 3.15pm with a thirty minute unpaid break during the day.
