We are looking for a teaching assistant to join our Lower Key Stage 2 team for 2 days a week (8.45am – 3.10pm). Actual Salary is £5975 - £6070.
The role will involve working with individual or small groups of children to support them with their learning as well as carrying out administrative tasks for the class teacher.
The main duties of the post will include:-
- Work with individual/small group of pupils, supporting the teacher and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), covering all areas of the National Curriculum
- Support the class teacher in ensuring that each pupil makes the best possible progress they can
- Deliver and contribute to programmes of activities provided by the teacher and / or SENCO which support individual pupil(s) to improve attainment, boost their confidence in learning, remain in mainstream school and maintain access to the national curriculum
- Assist with the development and implementation of Pupil Profile plans and Personal Care programmes
- Support pupils with meeting their targets
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Promote good pupil behaviour
- Perform support tasks for the class teacher such as photocopying, preparing work materials etc
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Behaviour, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality and Data Protection, reporting all concerns to the nominated person

Essential Criteria:-
- An 9 – 4 grade at GCSE level in both English and Mathematics
- Some experience of working with children
- Ability to be flexible
- A team player
- Patience
- Willingness to undertake further training
- Good communication skills
Desirable:-
- A level qualifications
- Qualifications relating to Child Care / Teaching Assistant role
- Experience of working with children with special needs
