We are seeking to appoint dedicated Receptionist to lead our front of house and present a positive and pleasant first experience of our school. Passion, determination, and a focus to ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential is essential.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting parents and students and the local community.

The School Receptionist will provide an efficient and courteous reception and administrative support for Carterton Community College.
This post is part of a job share and the post holder may be required to undertake other similar and administrative duties for 2 days per week.
Job Purpose
- Greeting and registering all visitors generating positive first impressions
- Assisting and dealing with queries from colleagues, students, parents and visitors
- Operating the switchboard and answering emails
- Supervising the medical room and providing First Aid when required
- Providing administrative support to colleagues
- Undertaking any additional tasks designated by Line Manager
Job Description for School Receptionist
General Administration
- Effectively operating the school switchboard in a professional manner
- Provide general admin support to colleagues in other departments as required
- Produce and maintain lists/information/data as required
- Taking minutes at the admin team meetings
- Sorting, distributing and posting mail
- Providing general advice to colleagues, students, parents and visitors
- Maintaining the support staff fire register
- Updating all staff pigeon holes with correct names
- Photographing new staff and governor members when required
- Keeping the reception area, area under the stairwell and the conference room tidy and secure
Medical Room
- Hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate (training provided)
- Accurately record details of students using the medical room and maintaining an electronic log
- Be aware of and comply with policies surrounding student profiles including SEND, medical, safeguarding etc.
- Adhere to relevant policies including: Administration of Medicine and First Aid and Sick Child Policy.
Safeguarding Students
- Adhere to CCC Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
- Be aware of student profiles to ensure safety of students.
- Act as gatekeeper to the school site ensuring that visitors are appropriate to be admitted to a school setting
- Use professional curiosity when interacting with parents and children to inform Safeguarding Leads when needed.
