School Business Manager

Job Introduction

St Edburg's Church of England VA Primary School is looking to recruit an outstanding School Business Manager to lead all non-teaching and learning functions across both our school sites.

In September 2024, St Edburg's expanded to become one school across two sites.  We have a brand new 'lower school' for our nursery, reception and KS1 children and our upper school, a 8 year old building that houses our KS2 children.

The school has continued to grow since 2016.  We now have 480 children on roll (including 80 nursery children) when we reach capacity we will have 710 children in our care.

The school has a low turnover of staff, buildings that are in excellent repair and a budget with a healthy projected surplus.

• With a good basis to work from, the key purpose of this role is to deliver a high quality and efficient, business support service and to ensure that day to day operational functions are effectively managed.
The main functions include, but not limited to:
Administration, Finance, HR, H&S and site management

• The post-holder will provide overall leadership and line management to the school support functions in each school site; developing the already high performing support teams who are highly motivated and focussed.

• They will liaise with numerous internal and external stakeholders and service providers to ensure that these functions provide value added support and advice to the school in a timely and professional way.

• They will be a member of the school’s Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and contribute fully to School Development Plans and the 5-year strategic plan.

• They will actively promote school values and ethos. They will be a Designated Safeguarding lead and have the highest regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of staff, children, and the community.

•To be successful in this role you will need significant experience of Business Management in schools and be able to demonstrate drive and commitment to work with the Senior Team to continue to move the school forward.
