Part-time Year 1 Class Teacher

Job Introduction

Chesterton CE Primary School is looking to recruit an excellent teacher to join our thriving school to work alongside a colleague on a part time basis in our KS1 class.

If you are a talented, positive and committed teacher, with a passion for enabling children to make progress in all areas of an engaging curriculum, then we would love to hear from you. We are a thriving village school located close to Bicester with just over 200 pupils on roll.

Chesterton CE Primary School can offer you engaged, well-behaved children; high levels of parental engagement; welcoming colleagues, including a highly-skilled team of Teaching Assistants, and a supportive leadership team, all of which contribute to a fantastic environment in which to teach and learn.

Our school website demonstrates the wider life at the school, with photos, videos and explanations of exciting events and learning opportunities throughout this academic year. *  We are proud of how Chesterton provides a rich and vibrant learning experience for children and a range of activities outside the classroom.

*Some sections of the school website are password-protected. Please contact the school office if you are interested in this vacancy and we can share a temporary password.

Whilst we pride ourselves on high levels of achievement in the classroom, there is much more to our village school and we strongly believe in providing the widest range of opportunities for pupils and staff alike.

“This (the school vision) is characterised by the care and trust between children and adults. Adults recognised the school’s vision as the cornerstone of children's spiritual, emotional and academic growth. Therefore, they model relationships that are underpinned by the school’s values and this makes a positive contribution to the pupils’ personal development.” SIAMS Report

Chesterton Church of England Primary School promotes the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

We would strongly encourage visits to the school to discuss the role in person and see our school in action. We will be closed for the half-term holiday between 26th May and 2nd June.

If you would like to do this, please contact us on 01869 252498 or email office.3082@chesterton.oxon.sch.uk to arrange a convenient time to meet the Headteacher, Mr Iain Horner.

More details about our school and the role (including application form and additional documents) can be found on our website (https://www.chestertonprimaryschool.org.uk/). If you are interested in applying, please complete the application form and return to the school office (office.3082@chesterton.oxon.sch.uk). Please note we are unable to accept CVs/supporting statements - all information must be included on the application form.
