Part-time Classroom Teacher (0.5 fte)

Job Introduction

St Mary and St John CE Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team on a 0.5 FTE basis, starting 1st September 2026. This role will likely begin in Year 1, with the opportunity to work across other year groups in future years.

We are a thriving, welcoming and outward-looking school where relationships sit at the heart of everything we do. Our values—love, respect, empathy, courage, aspiration and curiosity—shape our daily life and create a culture where both children and staff flourish. We believe there is no ceiling on learning: curiosity is encouraged, innovation is welcomed, and staff are trusted to take thoughtful risks in their practice.

At St Mary & St John, you will be joining a genuinely supportive and collaborative team. We look out for one another, celebrate successes together, and work hard to create an environment where everyone feels valued and inspired.

As a Church of England school, we are deeply committed to inclusion. We nurture curiosity, spirituality and creativity, ensuring every member of our community feels respected, safe and able to thrive. Our children reflect this ethos—they are confident, compassionate and resilient learners who embrace challenge and celebrate diversity. We are proud to help shape young people who leave us as ambitious, courageous and lifelong learners.

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a genuine passion for teaching and learning

· Brings energy, vision and warmth to the classroom

· Can inspire, motivate and engage all learners

· Is committed to inclusion, meeting the needs of, and advocating for, every child

· Values teamwork and builds strong relationships with colleagues and families

· Is reflective and committed to their own professional development

· Wants to be an active part of a caring school community

In return, we offer:

· High-quality CPD, including NPQ opportunities

· A chance to make a real and lasting impact on children and the wider community

· Enthusiastic, curious pupils who love learning

· A supportive, collaborative and welcoming staff team

· A strong commitment to your wellbeing and work-life balance

· Engaged and supportive governors

· A positive, fun working environment (with the added bonus of cakes, biscuits and the occasional homemade curry!)

If you are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a school where your ideas, energy and commitment are truly valued, we would love to hear from you.
