Position: Level 3 Early Years Foundation Stage Practitioner
Contract: Temporary (Terms 4–6)
Hours: 30 hours per week, Term time only
Salary: Oxfordshire County Council support staff, Grade 8
Start Date: Term 4 (2026)
Potential for Permanent Role: Yes — depending on staffing organisation for September 2026
Setting: School‑based nursery taking children from the term after they turn 3 years old

About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing and skilled Level 3 EYFS Practitioner to join the Five Acres school‑based nursery. The successful candidate will support high‑quality early education for children aged 3+, ensuring a safe, stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment. Focusing on early language due to our changing demographic.
This is a temporary role for Terms 4–6, with the possibility of becoming a permanent post from September 2026.

Qualifications & Training
| Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification Evidence of ongoing professional development within Early Years A secure understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
| Paediatric First Aid qualification Additional relevant training (e.g., SEND, speech & language, behaviour support)

Knowledge & Experience
| Good knowledge of the EYFS Framework and statutory requirements Sound understanding of the Characteristics of Learning. Experience working with children aged 3–4 in a nursery or school setting Understanding of early childhood development, play-based learning and observational assessment Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to planning Experience supporting children with a range of needs
| Experience working in a school‑based nursery setting Knowledge of supporting transitions into Reception Experience of writing reports for parents. Experience with early phonics and early mathematics approaches Familiarity with assessment tools used in school nurseries (Insight, Wellcom)
