Learning Support Assistant

Job Introduction

Orchard Fields Community School Governors are looking to appoint a

Learning Support Assistant to support children with Special Educational

Needs on a one-to-one or small group basis for March 2025.  A level 3 qualification or the equivalent would be advantageous. 

 

Orchard Fields Governing Body and the Head teacher are committed to safeguarding all children, a fully enhanced DBS is required for this post.

Flexible working hours will be considered.

Contract type: Two -Year Fixed Term Contract

Contract: Two -Year Contract (Term Time Only)

Salary: Grade 4 – Points 4/5   with pay ranging from £24, 404 - £18, 795 for Full Time 37 hours

Pro Rata for 30 hours depending on experience actual salary will be £ 14, 404

Hours: 30 hours per week. 8.45am – 3.30pm (Includes 15 minutes unpaid morning break and 30 minutes unpaid lunch break)

Orchard Fields Community School is a large two-form entry school (2 – 11 Years) on the Bretch Hill estate. As a school, we strive to recognise and develop children’s personal strengths and talents. Our pupils are well-behaved, enthusiastic learners and our teaching team is welcoming, hardworking and supportive.

We are looking for an outstanding practitioner to work in our setting; some experience in working with children with Special Needs would be advantageous.  We require someone who has a caring, patient and empathetic ethos.   • A highly effective practitioner in terms of supporting a child/ren with (SEND) during lesson delivery so that they can access learning
  • Be able to develop positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Rigorous in ensuring any pupil in their care makes the required progress in order to reach their true potential
  • Show a commitment to extra-curricular activities and parental engagement events
