Lead with Passion as Head Teacher at Bardwell School

The Gallery Trust is seeking an exceptional and visionary Head Teacher to lead Bardwell School, a highly respected special school in Bicester, Oxfordshire. Bardwell School provides outstanding education and support for over 119 pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Gallery Trust is a Multi Academy Trust dedicated to improving outcomes for SEND learners across Oxfordshire. Bardwell School is a vibrant and inclusive community special school for children and young people aged 2–19 with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning disabilities. With 119 pupils on roll, Bardwell is a values-led school where every decision is guided by principles of inclusivity, respect, and excellence. We take a positive reinforcement approach to behaviour management and tailor learning to each pupil’s unique needs, ensuring that their abilities are recognised, celebrated, and nurtured.

As Head Teacher, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership, fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing team, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
  • Champion innovation in SEND education, ensuring an inclusive, personalised approach to learning.
  • Engage effectively with parents, carers, and the wider community to enhance the school’s impact.
  • Work closely with The Gallery Trust to contribute to wider strategic goals and knowledge sharing across our family of schools.

We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced leader with: 

  • A strong track record in leading SEND education, with a deep understanding of best practices in special education.
  • The ability to articulate and drive a clear vision for excellence.
  • Exceptional people skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and build strong relationships.
  • A commitment to the values of inclusivity, diversity, and pupil-centred learning.
