We’re looking for a Room Lead to join our welcoming and supportive middle leaders’ team at Slade Nursery School, a diverse inner-city primary school where children are curious, energetic, and full of joy.
About the Role
As Room Lead, you’ll take the lead in creating a nurturing and stimulating space for our youngest learners.
You’ll work closely with colleagues to plan engaging activities, support children’s development, and foster strong relationships with families.
You’ll be a key part of a team that values collaboration, celebrates individuality, and puts children at the heart of everything we do.
Job Specification
Qualifications
• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience
• Experience working with children in early years settings
• Experience supporting children with additional needs
• Experience contributing to planning and assessment
Knowledge & Understanding
• Understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Awareness of Keeping Children Safe in Education and child protection procedures
• Knowledge of working with children with SEND
Skills & Abilities
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to observe, assess, and record children’s progress
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities indoors and outdoors
• Ability to support bilingual learners
