Early Years Practitioner (Nursery Nurse)

We are seeking an Early Years Support Worker (Nursery Nurse) for our Foundation Stage classes.  The post is for 30 hours per week (8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday - Friday) and is term time only.  The salary is in the Grade 8 range, depending on experience. 

You will need to be committed to the continuing development of the whole school and have excellent communication skills.   Enhanced DBS checks and references will be required in line with our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.    

Essential

* NNEB Certificate / NVQ Level 3  (or equivalent)

* knowledge and understanding about the developmental and learning needs of young children

* up to date knowledge and experience of implementing current early years documentation

* knowledge of the particular health and safety issues relevant to this age range

* commitment to child-centred practice 

* commitment to the promotion of children’s rights 

* commitment to ongoing personal professional development

* commitment to equality of opportunity

* commitment to working with parents

* ability to work in a team

* good communication and interpersonal skills

*appropriate literacy and numeracy skills

 Desirable

* recent experience working with children in this age range

* additional training / qualifications /   personal professional development

* training and / or experience with children who have Special Educational Needs, 

   or for whom English is an additional language

* positive experience of team work in an early years setting

* experience of working with 4 – 5 year old children (Oxfordshire Foundation Stage children)

* ability to take initiative
