We are looking for an enthusiastic, capable and caring Special Needs Assistant with to join our friendly team. The post-holder will need to have a BSL Level 1 qualification and be capable of providing support for a pupil with a profound hearing impairment and cochlear implant.
This will be an extremely rewarding role working with a pupil who loves learning and has a great zest for life. Your role will be crucial in helping our pupil make the most of every learning and social opportunity on offer in school.
Duties include supporting children in the classroom and playground and working closely with the class teacher to develop pupils' academic and social skills. You will need to be kind, patient, motivated by young children's learning and enjoy their company. Previous experience of working in a Key Stage 1 setting is desirable.
This post will also cover lunchtimes at school working as a supervisory assistant within our lunchtime team. At lunchtimes, responsibilities would include supporting your named child and other pupils in the lunch hall, as well as supervising and assisting with your named child’s play outside. Our lunchtime team work with all pupils from 4 – 11.
Learning Support Assistant Role - Salary scale B £18,562 to £18,877 pro-rata (depending on qualifications and experience). Term time only.
Lunchtime Supervisor Role – Salary Scale A £17,842 to £18,198 pro –rata – Term Time only.
*This position is defined as fixed-term as it is role dependent, supporting a specific pupil’s EHCP hours
