Learning Support Assistant – Fixed Term

Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract , Part-time

Salary Type: Support Staff

Salary Details: Scale B or C depending on experience £18,562 – £19,941 FTE (£13,577 - £14,587 actual)

Hours of Work: 8.30am – 3:10pm Mon-Fri We would consider a job share, for example 5 mornings or 5 afternoons split role. Expected end date August 2022 with potential for this to be extended.

Job/Person Summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and motivated Learning Support Assistant (or 2 people sharing the role) to support a lovely pupil with a physical disability who will be joining our school in September. This role will include personal care, manual handling and medical needs support. All training will be provided. The position is for 30.85 hours per week. The successful candidate will essentially be supporting the child to access their learning by removing barriers and providing equity in their education experience. In addition to this, they will be working in close partnership with the other staff members.

The candidate will work as a year group team under the supervision of the class teacher and SENCO.

The successful applicant will be positive, enjoy working as part of a team, offer a common sense approach, a “can do” attitude and have an inclusive approach to education.  An active interest in education and experience of working with children is preferable.  Candidates should indicate on their application any experience they have of supporting children with physical disabilities in school.

Basic skills in English, Maths and ICT should be secure and competent.   Any other areas of special expertise/interests that the candidate holds would be welcomed and should be indicated in the application.
