Are you a team player? Someone who is looking for a new challenge? Committed to working with and supporting young people? Interested in working in a school where the ethos is rooted in The United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child? Wanting to make a real difference and yet understanding that there are times when you might feel you've taken two steps backwards instead of any steps forward?
If you can answer yes to these questions, we look forward to hearing from you.
We are looking to appoint an LSA to work with our Year 5 team. The candidate would need to be able to support within the classroom, have the skills to support small groups and be able to work across the age range (7 - 11 year olds). We have advertised this role as a fixed-term contract; however, there is a strong possibility that this could become a permanent position for the right candidate with the right skills set.
Whilst you might not have any experience already working as an LSA, you will have recent experience working with young people and transferable skills. You will need to be excellent at communicating, willing to adapt and to be flexible to meet the needs of the school, and keen to learn. Good standards of written English are essential and you will require a grade C in GCSE as a minimum (or the equivalent in a different exam). You will also require a minimum of a grade C in GCSE maths.
To find out more about the role, contact either Anne Sheret, our Inclusion Champion, or Hannah Popplwell, the acting head teacher.
For an application pack, please contact Sarah Shepherd in the school office either by email: email@example.com or by phone: 01256 329826
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, the interview will be conducted virtually, via Zoom. Unfortunately, whilst we would highly recommend prospective candidates to visit the school ordinarily, we are unable to arrange this at the current time; however, candidates will be able to access a virtual tour of the school on our website: https://www.manorfield-jun.hants.sch.uk/.
Manor Field Junior School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
