We have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join John Hanson Community School to become the 2nd in Science Faculty. We are looking for a classroom practitioner, with excellent subject knowledge, who has the ability to further develop teaching and learning throughout the faculty.
Science is a high performing faculty, having previously achieved amongst the best results in the County. This success is a result of a keen focus on progress and developing a love of Science for all students. The successful candidate will want to be a central part of the continued development of the science spiral curriculum and demonstrate how they will contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning across the faculty.
John Hanson is a successful 11-16 community school, rated as Good by OFSTED. Our students are friendly and confident, and we strive to ensure that they achieve the success they deserve.
For the last three years the school has been above the national average for the Basics measure (9 - 4 in English and Maths) with significant rises in students achieving Basics at Grade 9-5 in 2018 and 2019. In 2019 the school is achieved record results in the local area, with OFSTED commenting “The new approaches to improve teaching, learning and assessment in both key stages have rapidly raised standards for current pupils across most subjects.”
