Contract/Hours: Permanent , Part-time
Salary Type: Support Staff
Salary Details: Pay Scale D – actual pay £10,80 per hour
Salary Pro-Rata: 20,830
Hours of Work: 162 hours per year, term time only – evenings on specified dates
Location of Role: Kings' School
We are looking for a motivated minute taker to join our school to specifically work with and alongside our Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team. If you have high expectations and high personal standards and want to be part of the exciting future of Kings’ School, then we want to hear from you.
The post holder will need to have a flexible approach to time. The role will require you to support the evening meetings of the Full Governing Body, 6 times per year and the 4 sub-committees, who also meet in the evenings, 6 times per year. The schedule of Governor meetings can be found on the school website (note that the Governance committee is not minuted). The role will require the minute taker to attend each meeting and then transcribe the minutes for approval by the committee chairs within 3 working days of each meeting. The Full Governing Body meeting normally lasts for 3 hours and the sub-committees last, on average, 2 hours. It is expected that an FGB meeting will require 4 hours of post meeting work and each sub-committee 3 hours of post meeting work.
The total number of hours required, therefore, is 162 spread across the academic year.
You will be confident in communicating well and whilst fulfilling the direct needs of the senior leadership team and the Governing Body, will largely need to demonstrate that you can work under your own initiative.
You will be an excellent typist, be familiar with Microsoft Office, have an ability to take concise meeting notes and be able to understand and follow policies and procedures. A background in a clerical or administrative post would be advantageous and you must be able to demonstrate a high standard of efficient and accurate record keeping.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will need to be skilled in supporting colleagues to ensure the very best outcomes for our school. The post holder will work to secure the brightest future for our pupils and the wider community.
If you would like to come and join the Kings’ family, please apply using the application provided on our website together with a covering letter addressed to our Headteacher, Mr Leeming.
