Job/Person Summary

We have a very exciting opportunity for someone with enthusiasm and strong childcare experience to help develop a brand new wraparound care provision at our school. Having successfully operated a Breakfast Club in our school hall for many years, we have decided to open an After School Club for children who attend our large Church of England junior school and the adjacent infant school.

We are keen to recruit an experienced childcare professional to lead our team as a permanent member of staff. Initially, we expect our After School Club to cater for up to 40 children of primary age and we are therefore recruiting a Leader and an Assistant. In the future, this team could grow and we will encourage close liaison with our Breakfast Club staff team as resources and ideas can be shared.

Our After School Club Leader role will be a very rewarding one, particularly as our new provision opens and evolves. We have adopted Hampshire’s ‘Out of School Group Leader’ Role Profile which is reflected in the ‘E’ pay scale. Our vacancy is for 15 hours per week: 3pm to 6pm daily during term time. New members of our team benefit from a comprehensive induction programme and regular professional development opportunities and we are delighted that our Breakfast Club Leader is happy to open this club at the start of the new year and then handover responsibility to our new After School Club Leader in due course.

As a school we are extremely proud of our successes and we are excited to be able to open a new wraparound care provision in September. In April 2022 our school secured a very positive outcome from our short Ofsted inspection, not least the judgement that our Christian Values of TLC ‘help to make the school a very special place.’ This echoed the outcome of our church school inspection in November 2019 that our Christian vision ‘successfully drives the school’s development and has an exceptional impact on the lives of pupils and adults.’
