Job/Person Summary

We are seeking an experienced senior leader who is ambitious for the children and staff they serve, as well as for themselves.

The successful applicant will have experience of leading teams and managing change in order to create the very best educational experience for children. We are looking for somebody to start this post in January 2025. Our core values are Work Hard. Be Kind. No Excuses. We aim to instil these in all members of the school community in order that children and young people are enabled to be highly successful. We are on a journey of improvement that will enjoy a leader who lives and breathes all aspects of pedagogy and the curriculum that underpins it. We are looking for our new Deputy Headteacher to be relentless in the pursuit of excellent teaching brought about in part by a coherent and ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of our children.

The successful candidate will have high expectations of staff and students and will be able to communicate those expectations with clarity and enthusiasm thus inspiring others to be excellent. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and managing the quality of education that students experience in their time at Miltoncross. They will lead and motivate our staff team to ensure that we have an academically very successful student culture. They will work particularly closely with the Headteacher and two Assistant Headteachers who oversee Teaching and Learning and Student Progress and Assessment. Staff commute to us from Hampshire, Southampton, West Sussex and surrounding areas with ease
