Job/Person Summary

We have an exciting opportunity in our small yet beautiful village school for a passionate and dedicated SENCo to build on the strengths already in place.  As our SENCo you will work alongside the staff to ensure the right support is in place so that all our children have appropriate access to the curriculum and make good progress. 

This is a permanent position on the Teachers Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale with additional renumeration possible for an experienced SENCo able to take on additional teaching and learning responsibilities. The position is for two days a week (0.4 FTE). The position may well suit someone already fulfilling this role in another school for one or two days a week, and who wishes to work slightly more hours. The same role is also being advertised at our Federation School, Barton Stacey, and for the right candidate, the role could be 0.8 FTE working across the Federation.

• has the SENCO accreditation or the desire to work towards one
• is a qualified teacher with sound knowledge of SEND code of practice

• has a comprehensive understanding of children with additional needs and child development
• believes that a teacher’s role is to ensure children develop a love of learning
• will support our Christian ethos and values of Love, Hope, Trust and Forgiveness
• is a reflective practitioner and is committed to delivering excellent learning for all children with high expectations of achievement and behaviour
• has the ability to plan and work strategically with other members of staff to ensure the right provision is in place for our pupils
