The Dever Valley Federation Schools are two schools who work closely together as a team to provide excellent education for our children. Barton Stacey C of E Primary School and Micheldever C of E Primary Schools make up our successful Federation.
Barton Stacey C of E Primary School is an exciting place to work where children have keen minds and a hunger for learning. Our latest ‘good’ OFSTED inspection from May 2024 highlights that, ‘the school’s support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is strong. Regular checking makes sure that support and interventions to meet pupils’ needs are working as intended… pupils with SEND feel included and achieve well.’ In addition to this, ’Pupils at this school are happy and joyful. The school is described by parents and staff as the ‘Barton Stacey Family’ because of its caring nature. Pupils are proud of the way that they treat each other. They understand the school’s Christian values of love, hope, trust and forgiveness. This is demonstrated in their day-to-day behaviour. The school is calm and pupils are able to enjoy both playing and learning together.’
We have an exciting opportunity in our small yet beautiful village school for a passionate and dedicated SENCo to build on the strengths already in place. As our SENCo you will work alongside the staff to ensure the right support is in place so that all our children have appropriate access to the curriculum and make good progress.
This is a permanent position on the Teachers’ Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale, with additional remuneration possible for an experienced SENCo able to take on additional teaching and learning responsibilities. The position is for two days a week (0.4 FTE). The position may well suit someone already fulfilling this role in another school for one or two days a week, and who wishes to work slightly more hours. The same role is also being advertised at our Federation School, Micheldever, and, for the right candidate, the role could be 0.8 FTE working across the Federation.
Barton Stacey C of E Primary School prides itself on its nurturing environment and attention to individuals’ needs, alongside high expectations of achievement and behaviour. Our school is a happy and purposeful environment in which to work, and relationships between staff, children and parents are excellent.
