Salary Pro-Rata: £14,387

Hours of Work: 25 hours/week for 42 weeks - Ideally 07:30 - 09:00 and 15:00 - 18:30 (but negotiable)

Job/Person Summary

John Keble is a one form entry, village primary school based just outside Winchester, graded good by Ofsted (February 2024).   We have a super opportunity for someone to join our team as a Caretaker. The role is school based so you would be in a child centred environment.

Are you responsible, enthusiastic, reliable and proactive and take pride in your working environment?   Do you enjoy all aspects of DIY, grounds maintenance and a little bit of cleaning? If so, then we need you!

 Duties will include:

• Key holder (unlocking and locking the site) including attending call outs.
• Ensuring the school site is tidy and safe
• Undertake redecoration and routine maintenance
• Carry out essential Health and Safety checks, eg fire checks, legionella.
• Using basic IT skills and ability to access email
• Liaising with outside organisations for repairs

 The ideal candidate will:

• Enjoy being around children
• Good DIY skills
• Have the ability to prioritise workloads
• Good communication skills.
• Work professionally with interruptions, maintaining health and safety at all times.
• Knowledge of site health and safety.
• Be able to use computer based platforms (although training can be provided)
