Job/Person Summary

Are you looking for an enjoyable and challenging role that will have a positive impact on the children and families in our community?

"The Holt", the wraparound provision at Otterbourne Church of England Primary School, includes before and after-school care for children aged between 4 and 11, and is an invaluable part of our school life.  During this time, children develop important life skills and learn to socialise with children and adults.  For the families in our school community this is a vital support network which builds long-term, trusting relationships.

Are you enthusiastic, reliable, creative and able to work on your own initiative? Do you enjoy seeing children grown in confidence and learn new skills?  We are looking for a Playworker to join our well-established and friendly team, to help prepare resources, deliver activities with a range of children and, most importantly, maintain a safe and caring environment for all.

There is also the exciting possibility of progression to Deputy Leader within the next year.  This role will attract the Grade D salary scale (£25,628 - £28,326 pro-rata) but is subject to the necessary experience and qualifications.

The Holt is open from 7:45 until 9:00am and from the end of school until 5:30 or 6:00pm each day (term time only).  The hours can be flexible to accommodate other responsibilities and work commitments.

At Otterbourne Church of England Primary School, we are proud of our inclusivity and have high expectations that all of our children will thrive.  Previous experience within an extended school, school or nursery setting would be an advantage although not essential as training can be given.

If you want to make a difference to the lives of young children, we want to hear from you!

The start date is as soon as possible.

Application Procedure

If you think you are the person we are looking for, we would like to meet you.  Visits to the school are recommended.  Please phone the school office on 01962 712020 and arrange an appointment to suit you.  An application pack including a person specification and role profile are available on request.
