Job/Person Summary

The Governing Body of Knightwood Primary School are seeking a dedicated,

passionate and child-centred professional to be our Deputy Headteacher. Knightwood is a vibrant school with incredible facilities and potential, with the belief that we are always learning at the centre of all we do. The successful candidate will:

• be creative and able to think in different ways to solve problems, tackle difficulties and overcome obstacles (evidenced through examples in current role)
• Be able to lead curriculum development 
• be interested in research and how that informs practice 
• have had previous experience in a senior leadership position
• understand the principles underpinning excellent teaching and learning;
• be able to champion change, leading by example and encouraging others to make the change;
• maintain exceptionally high standards in all areas of school life;
• have had an experience of leading whole-staff training and development;
• be an effective communicator and able to maintain strong, healthy and productive relationships;
• promote positive relationships with children and parents/carers;
• keep up to date with the latest research and curriculum developments; and,
• strive to improve their practice through continuing professional development
