Job/Person Summary

Role profile for After School Club Leader


  1. Leading activities and clearing away safely at the end of the session.
  2. Ensure children use play equipment safely.
  3. Be aware of any medical condition of any children in attendance.
  4. Maintain effective working relationships with parents, carers when responding to queries raised.
  5. Manage children behaviour problems in line with the school behaviour policy.
  6. Adhere to the schools equal opportunities policy.
  7. Supervise children basic hygiene arrangements.
  8. Be punctual at all times.
  9. Attend any training as appropriate.
  10. Making afterschool snacks (Toast/ pasta/ beans/ fruit etc)

Person Specification:

  1. Kind, caring, calm and empathetic towards the children from Year R up to Year 6.
  2. Enthusiastic and energetic as part of the role is playing outdoors with the children.
  3. Able to work under own initiative
  4. Reliable, punctual and trustworthy. Confidentiality is crucial to the role
  5. Ideally first aid trained (this can be arranged in school)
