Job/Person Summary

Freemantle C of E Community Academy is a two-form entry primary and maintained nursery, catering for pupils from 3 to 11 years. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, caring and talented part time EYFS teacher to join our team in Reception.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed classroom practitioner with a proven track record of securing high standards in learning, as well as secure knowledge and understanding of teaching in EYFS.

Qualifications and experience

·        Degree and Qualified Teacher Status

·        Successful primary teaching experience

·        An in-depth understanding of the EYFS phase

·        Experience of teaching within EYFS (desirable) 

Skills and knowledge

·        Excellent communication skills with both children and adults

·        Knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Guidance

·        Knowledge of effective play-based teaching and learning strategies

·        A good understanding of how young children learn and develop

·        Ability to adapt provision to meet pupils’ needs

·        Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and staff

·        Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children

·        Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies

·        Good ICT skills

·        An enthusiasm and passion for teaching and learning to make a positive difference to our children’s lives

·        A reflective practitioner, with an openness for training and collaborative working to further own skills and professional development

·        Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

·        Ability to be flexible, and at times, work using own initiative

·        A commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all pupils and in promoting the ethos and values of the academy

·        High expectations for children’s attainment and progress

·        Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively

·        Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times

·        Commitment to safeguarding and equality
