Job/Person Summary

We are seeking to appoint a colleague to join our passionate, hardworking and happy English Faculty. The study of English is at the heart of the curriculum and we are looking to appoint a candidate who has the ability to ensure learners of all abilities make progress, achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation of the subject. We are looking to over staff the English faculty so that we can provide the best chances for our students; the successful candidate will have a teaching timetable and support with whole faculty interventions across the ability and age range.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4 and will be creative, efficient and committed to raising standards. They will have excellent subject knowledge and join a highly motivated team of collaborative teachers committed to a creative and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, and to instilling a passion for English in our students.  

English is a popular subject with our students, and our attainment and achievement is strong with both Language and Literature results. However, students are more than their exam grades and we pride ourselves on our curriculum and pedagogy that encourages our learners to engage with a wide range of literature over their time with us, along with a variety of creative writing opportunities.
